Coastal apartment
For this coastal apartment at the Belgian seaside, we wanted to create an interior that reflects the softness of the sea while feeling warm, fresh, and effortlessly livable for family life. The goal was to maintain a classic coastal atmosphere, but reinterpret it in a more contemporary and personal way through unexpected details and material combinations.
Blue tones inspired by the surrounding sea were balanced with warmer textures and child-friendly materials to create an atmosphere that feels relaxed yet refined. Throughout the apartment, classic elements were paired with more modern interventions, such as inox shelving details that bring contrast and structure to the softer fabrics and finishes.
We worked with beautiful Pierre Frey fabrics for the curtains and textiles, introducing a timeless elegance while keeping the overall atmosphere light and inviting. Soft textures, playful details, and carefully selected furniture pieces allow the apartment to feel both sophisticated and comfortable, perfectly adapted to modern seaside living for the whole family.

Inspiration
The inspiration for the project came from the Belgian coastline itself the muted blues of the sea, soft natural light, sandy mineral tones, and the relaxed elegance of seaside living. We wanted to reinterpret this coastal atmosphere in a more contemporary way by combining classic fabrics and warm textures with sharper inox details and modern furniture pieces, creating an interior that feels fresh, timeless, and personal.
Materials
A soft material palette of light sanded wool flooring, pale blue lacquered walls, peau de bête textures, and refined inox details creates a fresh coastal atmosphere with warmth, texture, and a subtle contemporary edge.
Furniture Proposal
The furniture proposal was built around a layered mix of textures and contrasting materials. Peau de bête elements and inox details bring both warmth and structure to the apartment, while the large velvet sofa was positioned to fully enjoy both the terrace views and the fireplace, creating a natural heart within the living space. A cosy reading corner completed the atmosphere, introducing a softer and more intimate moment within the open coastal interior.
